The Wadi Safar Public Realm project represents a benchmark in custom lighting design for public spaces, developed through a close collaboration between ViaLighting, UH, and Bega Obrelam. Commissioned by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), this initiative focused on creating a bespoke lighting bollard that enhances both the functional and aesthetic quality of the urban environment.

Designed specifically for Diriyah’s architectural and cultural identity, the bollard combines precision optics with a sleek, context-sensitive form. The lighting distribution was meticulously engineered to achieve high uniformity across pedestrian pathways—ensuring comfort, visibility, and safety for residents and visitors alike.

Each luminaire reflects a balance between innovation and tradition, integrating advanced materials and manufacturing with subtle, minimal design language that complements the Najdi-inspired public realm. The optical performance ensures soft, even illumination without glare, emphasizing the textures and rhythm of the landscape architecture.
