The Mansard Hotel in Riyadh stands as an architectural homage to European classicism, where proportion, symmetry, and light converge in refined harmony. The lighting strategy, designed to enhance the hotel’s distinguished façades, was developed through a cumulative light study—analyzing how illumination across multiple elevations contributes to the overall perception of depth and elegance. ViaLighting’s approach emphasized homogeneous façade lighting, ensuring every cornice, pilaster, and molding was evenly illuminated while preserving the architectural integrity of the building. Particular attention was given to the main cornice, positioned at the façade’s center, where light convergence highlights the balance and rhythm that define the structure’s classical composition. A custom outdoor wall lantern was selected and tailored exclusively for the project—blending traditional design cues with modern materials and energy-efficient technology. This bespoke fixture pays tribute to historic lantern craftsmanship while integrating contemporary precision and durability. The result is an exterior lighting composition that radiates warmth, clarity, and sophistication. Through meticulous optical control and timeless detailing, Mansard Hotel captures the essence of classic architecture reimagined through modern light, standing as a luminous landmark of refinement in Riyadh’s evolving urban landscape.
