Set in the breathtaking landscape of AlUla, Maraya Concert Hall is celebrated as the world’s largest mirrored building — a structure that reflects its surroundings while embodying the dialogue between art, architecture, and nature. Within this visionary project, light becomes the transformative medium, guiding visitors through a poetic journey described as “doors to the sky.” The lighting design concept integrates tunable light panels that interact dynamically with the elevations and mirrored planes, allowing illumination to flow seamlessly between the exhibition hall and the theater area. This connection between interior and exterior, shadow and reflection, evokes an emotional rhythm where light defines movement, perception, and meaning. Each illuminated surface becomes a reflection of the desert sky — constantly changing with color temperature and intensity to mirror natural conditions. The tunable system enhances flexibility, allowing the space to shift from contemplative exhibition settings to vibrant performance atmospheres. By merging technology with sensitivity, the lighting creates a continuum of experience, uniting architecture, landscape, and emotion. In Maraya, light is not decoration — it is narrative, presence, and transcendence.
