The Zone in Riyadh is a premier lifestyle and retail destination, where the night-time visual identity plays a critical role in shaping brand experience and driving footfall. As an outdoor retail and dining precinct featuring wide promenades, cafés, boutique shops, and a central dancing fountain, The Zone demands a lighting scheme that is both expressive and contextually integrated. ViaLighting was commissioned to design and supply a dynamic façade lighting system that would elevate The Zone’s presence after dark while aligning with sustainable principles. The lighting strategy incorporates programmable LED washes, accent uplights, and subtle backlighting to accentuate architectural geometry and storefront identities—without overpowering the space. Each luminiare is optimized for low glare and visual comfort, enabling clear sightlines and an inviting ambiance for pedestrians. Working closely with the architectural team, we ensured seamless integration of fixtures into façades and structural elements, using concealed mounting and precise optics. The system supports scene-based controls, allowing zones to shift in color temperature or intensity for events, promotions, or seasonal changes. The result is a bold yet elegant nocturnal identity: The Zone becomes a vibrant, immersive destination that draws visitors and reinforces brand positioning.
